Your Weather ?

Why do I suddenly have a blue box titled "Your Weather" for a place I'm not at or have ever heard of ?It's in the side bar,started this morning.

It's for where this site and its owner is located. Must be some kind of testing.

If your location isn't described as something that the system can readily parse (such as "northern WEST New York"), it is forced to punt.

Its supposed to pull the weather based on your IP address location. It is something we are testing.

We havent added a new feature in a long time and figured I would try this.

Looks like the issue is the site for finding the location of the IP is having issues.

A number of folks are reporting this issue to the author and he is looking for a fix.

Yeah I would say it is having issues. I am in Illinois and it is showing me the weather for Newington, Conneticut.

Ok I fixed it. (And fixed it myself) so now it should be showing the correct weather for your area.

Again your area is what is shown by your IP address... which can at times be wrong... but usually it is close enough...

I reported how I fixed it to the programs author.

Just something fun and new. (And its only shown on the main forum listing page.)

Abnormal weather continues. 5 straight days 30F above normal in the 80s Xmas week including a record 88. 10F above normal this week and looking at 20F above normal next week in the 70s.

These 30* above normal ...
Were lucky to make 30* of late.
Looks like starting Monday we'll get over 30, into the high 30's and 40's next week, thats like Spring around here.
