AL CENTRAL

Man those Sox bats seem to always boom against us!

Chisox always give us fits ...

On a unrelated AL Central note, it appears that this years version of the Yankees will not be going 162-0 :)

What a shame !

Found this odd, the third series of the year, against the Chi Sox started yesterday ...
ALL games are DAY games ... that doesn't happen very often, has Mother Nature figured out that SPRING has actually NOT gotten here this year yet.

Back in the day, the Red Sox would play their first homestand all during the day at Fenway. Then for a while they moved those games (except for Opening Day) to early evening- 6:00pm.

NOW they go directly to 7:00pm after Opening Day.

Another disheartening loss by the Tribe.

Carmona was bad early as he gave up 3 runs in the 1st, but settled down afterwards.

The Indians trailed 4-0 in the 9th and proceeded to score 2 quick runs to make it 4-2 with zero outs. A comeback was in the making, right?

Nope. Same ol' story. 2 of the next 3 batters struck out and 1 grounded out to end the game.

Bad starting pitching and not being able to hit with runners in scoring position has been our biggest flaw this year.

I don't understand Leyland this year. It was obvious to anyone watching this game that Miner didn't have his "A" stuff, yet Leyland leaves him in there until the game is out of reach. If he pulled him after 4 runs, we may have had a chance. Leyland is so quick to pull pitchers that are doing well, yet he leaves Miner out there. WTF?

This one is on Leyland.

He (as will most managers) will always try to leave the starter in thru 5 innings ...

Remember last year' "What's Wrong With Thr Indians?" thread?

I have a sinking feeling there may be a sequel.

Why would that be ?
Your only less than 10 games into the season ....

Boston's only got 2 wins, are you starting one for them too ?

Cleveland's only 4 games out of first, one good week and they can be in first.

btw, Washington has yet to win this year .

I've tried to remain positive as I mentioned in the past, "a slow start is Par for an Eric Wedge team"..........

But Damn, this is tough!

Another loss, this time because of the bullpen! It was 4-3 in the 8th inning before Raffey Perez loaded the bases and Vinny Chulk (who? exactly) gave up a 5 runs and a grand-slam to put the Royals ahead for good 9-3. On a positive note, my Goombah C-Pav made it through 6 innings and struck out 8. That is serious progress from his 81.00 ERA in his first appearance.

Either way, this team is in serious need of a slump buster. Gather all the fat chicks in Kansas City! ;) :)

Lol! :) I've been staying away from this Sports Forum, because I don't even like thinking about whats going on with the Tribe. It's not that they're 1-7....it's the way they've been losing. The starters and the pen have been pretty atrocious, and the number of times the hitters are striking out is mind-boggling.

I know its early, but damn......

Maybe they're just not that good.:D

Strike up the band! Fire up the kazoos! Uncork the champagne! Indians Win!!!!

A strong performance by Aaron Laffey who was called up to replace injured Scott Lewis. And a lock-down save by Kerry Wood, his second in as many attempts.

A much needed win by the Tribe as we now go into the Bronx to help the Yankees open up their new stadium tomorrow afternoon.

Oh btw, tomorrow's game against the Yanks will feature the last two AL Cy Young winners. C.C. Sabathia vs. Cliff Lee. I'll be taking a late lunch to make sure I see this game in it's entirety. Go Tribe!

Speaking of Cleveland, Hafner is really off to a hot start.

He has three homers in the first week-and-a-half after hitting only 5 all of last year.

Do I dare say that the Pronk of old is back?

Pronk was injured all last year. He's had a long road to recovery with that nagging shoulder of his.

As for him being back, it's awfully early to make any assumptions, but it sure looks that way so far. :up

Now's an EXCELLENT time to break out of the slump :D
