Subscription has been shut off again & my webSAMS lets me in but won't accept my information. It's really frustrating to try to get something done when the computers won't let you. I guess I should have set an alarm or marked it on the calendar like I used to back in the last century & send a check. And since I worked late, SRL is closed so there's not a single ***** thing I can do about it tonight.

Talk about computers. The number of sites that don't work recently seems to be rapidly increasing. Tested my connection speeds and they are above average but on some sites including this one
things are really slow. Sometimes all I have to do is go back and then do it again and it works. Just weird. Regarding subscription TV keep a record of how much it is actually used and can you get adequate
programming through free outlets and DVD. For many of us subscription TV is just so much swamp gas.

;)

What is it that the websams is doing specifically? Just curious!

If you're dealing with the "pick 10", that usually requires you choosing, then a simple e-mail for a "bump" as I call it from their end for an authorization rehit. Other than that, I've never had issues with any browser on any of the multiple accounts I maintain for me and for other friends who have bought H2H setups through me. And, considering the amount of subscribers, I think its great that SRL keeps the hours they do, even on weekends! Good luck and hope you get "renewed" soon.

NotTy sorry to hear this happened - it does seem messed up.

Like radio, I maintain multiple accounts and the only problem I've had is not logging out properly and having my login locked for 30 minutes.

Perhaps there is something wrong with your WebSAMS account that could be rectified by having a new one setup?

I thought he was leaving H2H last month  I had one problem with websams in the past 5 years. I called SRL & told them about it. They looked into it, fixed it and called me back to make sure everything was good to go. They also gave me Tim's extension if I had any other problems. Maybe I'm liked better since I don't bash 4DTV :)

Another real possibility, if he's on auto renew and doesn't pay in time then it will lock him out which is his fault and not the system and then has to have someone help him. That's one reason I always have my receivers set for 3 months and no auto.

Once you get a taste of pizza I am sure that you will be back!! ;)

The only show I really look forward to watching on H2H is IRT & on Direct, it'll be in high def. That means I'll no longer have to watch IRT in fat mode, head/feet chop off mode, or lighted gray bars on the side mode. Plus with Direct, I'll get my other favorite channels back. And there are ways around not having the contract. I have to fork out some dough, I guess about $800.00 unless I get some stuff off e-bay, but that's like one fifth of what I paid for the BUD. I'm not complaining because over the years, that BUD saved me money & I don't regret it one bit but modern day technology has left the BUD subscriptions in the dust.

And I still don't know if I'll get Direct. FTA does me just fine but is too complicated for the wife. Cable might also be an option since there's no contract.
Any way, webSAM is working this morning so my subscription is back on so I'll go for another month. I somehow keep hoping to hear "High Def" or "Spike TV" or "USA" coming soon.

I'm glad to see the 4 PPV channels were added. It's not what I personally was hoping for but it does show that H2H is trying & hopefully it won't fall into a stagnate mess.

That was resolved last month. This time I was able to get in but my rehit wasn't accepted. This morning, it was accepted. The auto renew box is checked marked.

It would be a nice feature to get an automated e-mail reminder. But I'm learning. I have my cell phone set to remind me 3 days before my sub runs out from now on.

That statement is so true that it'll get you banned from a certain 4DTV forum and post deleted.:D

There seems to be quite a bit of that happening everywhere lately! ...at least the deleted part.

I never said I was leaving last month. But here's exactly what I did say.."After a long & friendly discussion with my wife, we decided & agreed to end our subscription to H2H in thenear future."

They also gave me Tim's extension if I had any other problems. Maybe I'm liked better since I don't bash 4DTV :)

1) I'm not bashing 4DTV. I'm stating fact, not fiction. The best way to compete is to compare.
2) I never asked for Tim's extension. If I had, I would never post a boast about it. :yikes

I've called there many times over the years & have been greeted with courtesy & professionalism. The problems I've had in the past with them was solved quickly, professionally & to my satisfaction. I would never think to bother Tim over such piddly stuff as this. I find his staff fully competent in resolving issues.
Why would you want to drag his name into this anyway??? That, imo, is very unprofessional.:yikes

Dude you keep saying I'm going to Direct then why don't you? Get a contract I did. (mine is up in 8 months, thank goodness, boot city then) Then you can go over to the Direct forum and praise it if you like it that much. Its not worth trying to get around the contract, you will loose in the long run. Sure you can cancel before the 2 years is up but then your stuck with the box and a tv guide to watch. In a lease they supply the equipt you send it back and your done. If you can't deal with direct for two years you cancel and pay ETF's end of story. Your beating yourself up hanging on to H2H since you think it bites so let it go and move on.

Bashing in your eyes or not say what you want. Did you ever have any pizza service to compare or are you going on others reviews hearsay etc. If you never had pizza you cannot fairly review beyond what you read etc. Many others here can post both sides since they have it or had it.

Maybe if you talked to Tim he can straighten your issue out. Since your leaving anyway order Direct today and you be that much further along in your contract when H2H runs out. I have both so do many others so what the big deal. As much as I don't care for direct I still watch it since I am paying for it.

I already said earlier I got webSAM working. So I have no reason to bother or waste Tim or his staff's time.

And I have friends, neighbors & even family members that have the small dish & sure, they all have occasional issues but nothing like the unusually high amount of issues you've had. It has to be the area you live in & therefore I understand your hatred & discontent for the small dish. But not everyone have these issues.

As long as this thread has turned into a "vent"...... I have both Dishnet and 4DTV and of course, FTA. I don't really care for either of the subscriptions, but it serves a purpose. My wife wants the ease of Dishnet because of locals and Foxnews and ONE REMOTE. I like the 4DTV option of my choices, but wish it was a wider choice. FTA I watch most of the time, but my whole system is too complicated for my wife. Of course it doesn't help that I am constantly tweaking and changing and testing the system...

My wife has been so patient. I do all I can to make H2H, OTA & FTA easy for her to use. I even record her favorite soap on the OpenBox while she's at work, in HD even, so she can watch it when she gets home. When I do forget or can't get to it, she's always so forgiving. So I do have the family to consider as well. If it was just me, I would cancel everything & watch free stuff.

Whew... Boy, things sure can get heated in here at times.

A few years back, I had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Bob Cooper (Coop) - the father of TVRO. We discussed the late 80's and early 90's timeframe of the satellite industry. Something that Coop said still is true to this date. He said that C-Banders are 'passionate' about their systems. We can clearly see that people are still passionate about their systems.

We see the same in all industries. There are people who will swear that vinyl record albums sound better than CDs. Some people like dot matrix printers instead of laser printers for various valid reasons.

It all comes down to our individual needs. If I were a bachelor without any wife and kids, I very likely would live off of what I could get on free-to-air, and over-the-air. But... I have a wife and 2 kids, and they "need" their Disney Jr channel from the small dish.

The last time I checked, we all were free to make whatever decisions we want when it comes to tv. Not one solution will fit everyone. It's time to stop fighting, and to all go out for a beer together and be glad that we're all watching TV via satellite, which offers more choices, rather than being spoon-fed down a cable tv line.

Oh heck, you get banned if you don't like porno! Also bullied on the 101. Seems hypocritical but then closely checkout a certain music related site.

Stay away from dark alleys in Cicero Illinois.
