2013 AL Central

Somewhat surprised the Tigers are playing tonight, but even more surprised the game is scoreless going into the 7th inning.

You're telling me. I'm about 45 minutes away and I have been under a tornado warning for the last hour or two.

Another warning just issued until 11:30 and they are saying there are more severe storms capable of producing tornadoes coming up from the Chicago area all night long.

I'm huddled up in the man cave/basement with the news and tigers in PIP.

Dang, I'm having that feeling the Tigers are going to blow another excellent pitching performance tonight; 0-0 in the bottom of the 8th.

bottom 10, no score ...

How pathetic the O has been ... this is then 2nd time in 3 games going to extras with No score.

Good place for a team to MANUFACTURE a run, can this team do that ?

Maybe it's just the pirates pitching is that good.

We got a mega million dollar player (Cabrera) hitting two doubles last night, who was being followed another mega million dollar player (Fielder at 25M) who failed to bring him home...and Victor Martinez has been moved from the #5 spot because he's hitting .228. What's frustrating is Detroit keeps losing the majority of these 1-run games against the teams who are +.500. No way in hell we should have lost last night's game after Fister pitched a 3-hitter through 7-innings. Heck, we had 8-hits through 7-innings and couldn't manage to get a single run.

Imo the outs at home plate changed the game around.

Cabrera in a Triple Crown showdown with Davis in the AL Central?

As I posted in the MLB thread, Miguel Cabrera and Chris Davis are battling it out this weekend. Should be interesting because it's hot & muggy and the balls are traveling out of Camden Yards.

AL BATTING AVERAGE
1. Miguel Cabrera, DET .369
2. Chris Davis, BAL .353

AL HOME RUNS
1. Chris Davis, BAL 19
2. Miguel Cabrera, DET 15

AL RUNS BATTED IN
1. Miguel Cabrera, DET 59
2. Chris Davis, BAL 50
