FWIW, the just ran a 'scroll' across the bottom of CCTV 4 (in Chinese) that confirmed the April 1 date as the switchover to Echostar and Rogers Cable. They also advertised an online IP solution as well.

Not sure if the other signals on other birds will be affected.

Hi guys great forum here. Some time ago, i was trying to find info on cctv9 since i was worried once they stop all the G3C, and the question seems unanswered here. I found the cctv stuff on satmex6, its FTA

CCTV4 11780 H 20760 512/650/128
CCTV9 11780 H 20760 513/660/129
CCTVE 11780 H 20760 518/710/134
CCTVF 11780 H 20760 514/670/130

and MAC TV 12050 H 20000 608/609/608

You dont think they will make these part of the pay package in the future, do you guys? Their website statement is vague.

Those signals aren't on Satmex 6. They are on Galaxy 3C.
On Satmex 6, CCTV4 is at 12080 H 25635 Vpid 4216 Apid 4195 PCR 4216 and MAC TV is at 12090 V 3336 Vpid 33 Apid 34 PCR 33.

We should see in the next few days if the CCTV channels go dark on Galaxy 3C.

How do you go by pointing your dish to Satmex 6? I live in Long Island, New York...will I be able to receive a signal from Satmex 6?

March 2011...:up

Could you please tell me where you get this information, CCTV4 will be free for ....3 more years? thanks

I have the same question where is the source for this? Hope this is not an April Fool joke.
But the signal is indeed there this morning. Also CCTV 4 stopped advertisiing that they would leave G3C about a month ago. Before that, they put the words on screen that they would leave G3c by 4/1 and adviced people to sign on E* to continue to receive CCTV many times a day.

CCTV is always doing silly stuff. Remember a few years ago where they were mandating everyone buy an officially approved CCTV receiver? Now they were trying to get people to buy their Dish package or IPTV service.

I was silly enough to buy their CCTV receiver called CCTV IR2000. Paid extra for the useless Iredto card slot. That was before I found this forum and had no idea what FTA is. However CCTV IR2000 itself is a good receiver which has exact back plane layout as Mercury II and its remote is also similar to Fortec Stars. I used it for over 3 years and rarely had any problem. I suspect Fortec Star manufactured it for CCTV. Its major (now probably fatal) drawbacks are: No blind scan and no USALS.
