When will we know for sure which receivers are capable of streaming bb?

The press release wasn't clear enough for you? ;)
Access to the subscription streaming movie service requires a DISH Network HD DVR.

Any word about the 211k?
That receiver has always been excluded when it comes to the other HD DVRs that DISH offers since it's not a true DVR, but a HD receiver that can be converted to one. Does that box even have access to DISHOnline videos?
 
Specific receivers were not mentioned in the Press Release. Conference maybe. Don't feel like watching again.
 
I thought the ViP612 was to follow later, and not be included at launch. Just like the ViP922.
 
The point is content is getting expensive as the streaming market matures, and it will be interesting to see what a notoriously stingy company with a propensity for content disputes will do against competition like Netflix and Amazon who will open their pocketbook for their content.

Then again, if their goal is to just provide a service that doesn't compare apples to apples... more power to them I suppose. They just won't get my business if they insist on forcing a DVD by mail service on top of a streaming service just to fudge numbers and say they're offering more overall content.

How is something that's out in 2013 damage control? They're a public company, are they supposed to make the deal and be quiet about it for a year and a half?

It may be just the way the timing happened. IMO, it just seems that Netflix needed to announce something good after the way they screwed up. And this agreement, as feeble as it is, was all they have right now to sound like they still have something to bring to the table.

How did you set this up? I seen no option on the BB web site for setting up multiple queues and as I posted above, BB reply to may email stated this was not an option at this time. Understand, I'm not "calling you out" just interested in how you were able to do this...what settings or options did you have to click on to set up 2 queues?

You did call me out and I am glad you did. I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that. I am one of those movie freaks that actually has both netflix and blockbuster because I enjoy some harder to find movies that aren't always available from both services. I have the 2 queues set up on the Netflix account, NOT the blockbuster account. I apologize for my brain f*rt but glad that you brought it to my attention so I could correct myself. I did not mean to give false information.

I'm going to put my blockbuster by mail account on hold until after the 1st. I talked to a dish account specialist today. He said that they were trained on the promotion earlier today. He said that it will not be automatic that the customer must call in to activate it. As far as existing blockbuster by mail accounts, the customer must contact blockbuster in order to cancel or else you'll have two different accounts. I contacted blockbuster and the rep said the same thing. Who knows for sure. we'll find out after the first. typical dish press release leaving more questions then answers
 
so the annoying blockbuster app I have on my droid x that I could never get rid of...will I be able to use the app come 10/1???

Thank you for that clarification. But really, after dealing with Dish CSRs over the past, I really was thinking you were right and BB CSRs were wrong. :)

So, essentially the BB by mail is going to be via Dish? I have NF at present, but plan to drop it in favor of BB one BD at a time out and streaming via my 622. But, I'd sure like to know how a sub is supposed to set this all up, especially the BB account for one disc out at a time...
