When I signed up for DTV I signed up for HD access and got two HD DVR's. I have a tree problem blocking the HD channels so I called and asked if I could drop the HD access until the fall when the leaves have fallen and they said since I have HD DVR recievers they automatically get HD so the HD service can not be turned off on their end for my equipment. So I am stuck paying for it even though I can't get it. Does anyone know if this is true?

Yes, but you can exchange the hd equipment for sd and drop the hd charges.
