I'm having trouble with importing IPTV channels....All my links work perfect in VLC and are .m3u8 links. Any ideas? Do I need to upload what I created an let you see if you can figure out if I done something wrong? Also was wondering how I can rename my list to Favorites or something else other than New. THANKS!
Please post your code here. Links can not contain spaces or asci characters and some foreign characters.

Let's take a look. Or give us links we will post sample.

Here's the links, the 1st three worked until I tried to add more channels, now I only get 360 North to import. All work in VLC:

360 North

California Music Channel

Dr TV

These I have not been able to import at all:
ABC News

Big Ten Network

WSVN Miami Fort Lauderdale

I would like to add more local channels, especially from Augusta GA, Charleston SC, Columbia SC, Greenville SC, Myrtle Beach, SC, Spartanburg SC, Asheville NC, but haven't been able to figure out the links so far...

We are using apple decoding stack. The beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I really honestly believe that HDVR3500 is displaying Apple Live Streaming protocol better then Roku. But it's not always what hardware is better, it's also, what content how simple the access to that content is. So I do not believe anyone can claim who is better. We know that chrome cast has sold more units then anyone, that's because they are $35. But chrome cast owners don't watch tv as much as Apple TV owners. So the matter is not in capabilities. Let's get some good content going, let's make it easy to access and we will have a great time.

I just wanted to report to you, that since we started selling HDVR3500, we have simple grandmas and grandpas calling us and saying, thanks, i love this thing. People are happy about IPTV. Some of them had Roku before, but Roku makes it so complicated, people simply give up. Our receiver gives you simplicity of FTA, instant FTA channels as well as instant access to the IPTV channels.

After some more use of this box, I completely agree with you. The IPTV generally has a better image quality than Roku, etc. The IPTV isn't instant here, but far quicker than backing up and choosing another channel with Roku! I also have AppleTV. I may be in the dark, but I don't know how to view 3abn, etc. with AppleTV except through Youtube. I can airPlay all these channels from Mac to AppleTV very well. It is still more complex than the 3500's IPTV!

Our dish outside hasn't been touched in years. I have connected 6 or more receivers to it. This unit looks VERY GOOD!

Going forward from here, I want to learn to manage my IPTV list. Then I want to learn how to record. Favorites in the dish tuner is still on my mind.

I had a functional issue tonight. The network kept going on and off. The ethernet switch on which this box is connected was working fine for the Roku, etc. After browsing the satellite programming on the 3500 for a while, I went back to IPTV and it was working fine.

Thanks Eugene, Aaron and all there.

I'm interested in channels around here, Macon, GA, etc.

I have read the thread here, but need to re-read about adding these. I looked at WGN - would like to get that on my list.

:)

I have recorded some instructional videos that I will post in the next day or two. They will give you slightly better feel on how to manage this box. The best for now if you have a computer on the same subnet (network) with windows. Because putting the local IPTV channel list on the internal drive and creating a short cut to it is the best. You would have instant access to the IPTV channel list from the computer and you would be able to test the channel with VLC and instantly copy and paste into GEOSATpro HDVR3500 drive and have it instantly available.

Our goal is to make it as simple as any of user can do it

Once we approve channel manager, then these functions would become even easier.

Thank you for everyone's patience.

Warning: network going off and on could be the 1045 firmware issue we are about to address it.

Thank you,
Eugene

What if we don't use Windoze, but a Mac user? I switched to a Mac because I wanted something better for photo, video, & audio editing, and so far very pleased. I have VirtualBox installed with Windows XP (have old files I needed to convert), so I'm wondering if I can get it to connect to the receiver. Will have to give it a try, and post my results...

I'd like to record from IPTV, etc. and find a favorites list for satellite.
The IPTV is not yet recordable, we are working on that feature, but I do not promise it will be available, but in testing we have achieved the recording, so there is hope.

The Favorites lists are set up by clicking OK, then blue button, then you can manage favorites. I will post video tomorrow.

I use Mac myself and will come up with solution soon. I have always used macs. We are mac based business..
Connecting via VirtualBox doesn't work with it's default configuration, because it creates it's own network, so I'm going to try and see if I can figure out a way to give it a different connection on the same network as the receiver, or maybe try and bridge the connections, or add a USB network adapter... I know there should be a way ;)

It works on older OSX. Not on Mavericks. Let's hack it.
I'm using OSX El Capitan 10.11, I got early access for being a beta tester ;) I'm trying to figure it out...

Here's the message I got:

The version of the server you are trying to connect to is not supported. Please contact your system administrator to resolve the problem.

Is CIFS or AFP available on the receiver? Also found more info on why samba doesn't work: http://frankleng.me/2011/07/21/connect-to-a-freenas-samba-or-afp-share-on-lion-workaround/
We are going to massage the way samba broadcasts it's share and should have mac connectivity in the next few days. I am excited other mac users want access internal drive.
From IPTV channel list perspective, it's best if we host it on internal drive. I figured, if someone has a computer to edit IPTV channel list, they 1. must have network. 2. must want to easily access their "HDVR GUTS" anytime they want to :)

EUREKA! I got it working in VirtualBox on Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11! Here's how I did it: Machine > Settings > Network > changed the Attached to: settings to Bridged Adapter.
Started up Windows, entered the IP address of the receiver in Explorer, and it worked, I can see everything on the drive! :bluesbros
