Kijiji, eBay, and Craigslist dishes for you to take a look at

Dark Star! Am pretty sure this is the brand my folks has in the 80s. The disctinct feature were the amount of ribs in the reflector.
Oh the memories of the glory days!
Cheers, K

IIRC, the really weird "feature" of the Janiel Dark Star dishes was those ribs were made of...plastic.

The plastic ribs, plastic cone that held the button hook,a bazillion screws, when the sun hit it ,it would snap, crackle and pop.A 12' dish that didn't work as good as a 6 footer. The only thing that was any good was the polar mount(I've still got that around),the rest has been landfilled or recycled into beer cans,a long time ago. :D

FREE - 10' Winegard - Magalia, CA

H to H mount, seller asks you bring a jug of bourbon in exchange for this superb dish, a low cost path to nirvana.

yes, Yes, YES !

Pine needle collector on an AJAK 180 mount - I'm sold!
(in other words: any dish would do) :)
Winegard 10'er? Really hard to argue.

Ask the man what brand he likes, and take him two! :)

Now, THIS is a package worth some money and a long drive! ;) :up
Someone near Sacramento better grab this quickly.

Pro - I was going to PM you to go get that jewel... then realized how far away it was. :(
I've driven up there before. Thought not for a dish.
Well, she was, but that's another story. :)

No, I'm not going to razz ya for skipping that one.
250 miles is a reasonable limit, even for such a gem as that.

$80 - Birdview perf - Colorado Springs, CO
relisted
If he's got the H-H mount and the top of the special 6" pole to put it on, this is a no-brainer.

Birdviews do take a little work to bring back to optimum performance, but they're well documented here on the forum.
A top performer in its size range, and will equal or beat most 10' dishes, when properly tuned.
