Right now all I care about with the Rangers is that they keep a better record than the Tigers for HFA for the ALDS, AND to avoid the Yankees the first round.

The Giants are out of it. The best they can do is finish in a tie for the WC by winning every single game with Atlanta losing every game AND St. Louis losing at least 3 or more games out of the 5 left. This is nearly impossible. If it does happen, they still have to play in at least a 1 game playoff. Since the best they can do is tie and are behind 2 teams, I do not see this happening at all.
Now they are officially out of it, as AZ spanked the crap out of them last night

Braves lose to Phillies, but Cards losing 4-2 to Astros.....bottom of 7th. The Braves currently have a half game lead on the Cards, pending the conclusion of Cards-Astros.

Side note: the Phillies won their 100th game with their win.

Absolutely pathetic!
I cannot think of nothing better for baseball.

A large market team spending millions in free agents in the off season collapsing to let a small market team which lost many key player catch up with them. One of those free agents came from this small market team. Plus it adds an actual race

Bill, I know I might get heat from you but you know what this means if the Red Sox collapse?? That means my Mets collapses of 2007 and 2008 will be water under the bridge!! But seriously, I have been in your position before and it stinks.

Also, you might have to hear jokes like the one I just heard on Letterman. He was talking about that satellite that was supposed to fall this past weekend and he said something to the effect of "There falling to the earth faster than the Boston Red Sox".

The Magic, mass suicide number for the Red Sox is now 3. Any combination of 3 Red Sox losses and three Devil Rays wins will require all of the members of the Red Sox to commit suicide.

This game is important, not because of AZ fighting for homefield, but because of Kemp fighting for the triple crown and 40/40

Huh? They are tied. It just takes one more win than the other team to win the wild card at this point.
