So now here is a question for all of you....Barry Bonds, deservedly so, worthiness as a Hall of Famer has been questioned during all of this steroids scandal.....shouldn't we NOW question whether Roger Clemens' Hall of Fame worthiness??! I mean before this came out....he was a shoe-in...NOW, IMHO...if HE gets in, Barry Bonds should ALSO get in!

I have ANOTHER problem I have.....isn't this Mitchell character on the Board of Directors or something like that on the Boston Red Rox??!! Did you notice HOW MANY Yankees were on the list and how many Red Sox were NOT on the list??!! Now before ANYONE starts thinking I am a hater of the Red Sox and Lover of the Yankees....everyone here that knows my posts KNOW I hate them BOTH equally bad....but I find that there a little possible conflict of interest there....

I think there were more Yankees because of the informant and available information.

It is a conflict of interest which it is another reason why this thing is just a way to put a curtain to the problem and not revealed the real truth about it. I can't believe that with a budget of $55 million he could not get more sources.

If Roger Clements was going to the Hall of Fame, he was not going to be inducted as a Yankee/Blue Jay/Astro. He was going to be inducted as a Red Sox.

So it is kind of ironic that he is a Red Sox by nature but his steroid era is linked between the Blue Jays/Yankees/Astros career.

there is nothing wrong with making money on your work and I never said there was. I just said that the word jerk is more descriptive of someone who did what he did for money than the word moron.:)
Jerk is not appropriate. Every baseball fan should be grateful to Canseco for helping exposing this fraud. It wouldnt have even gotten started without the book. And that is the reason for everyones hatred of him. God, even ESPN is condemming the Mitchell report which is exactly the opposite position they should have. Every player named should be immediately banned from baseball, yet the want to toss the report in the trash. All of those players are guilty of illegally buying steriods, using them and committing fraud taking jobs and contracts away from other honest players and even minor leaguers that didnt make it to the show.

He had no legal authority to make anyone say anything. I am suprised and grateful that he got as much as he did. GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe the idiots saying they are not guilty because they didnt get more people? Absurd. The cop at the traffic light doesnt catch everyone speeding either but the ones he does get are guilty.

Not only was there a conflict of interest, this is a classic example of collusion. Mitchell should have recused himself, but he didn't because, in my mind, he was paid by baseball to find "some" dirty players, but not destroy the game. The report was a farce.

look we knew that Mitchell is on the board of a particular team when this started. we also knew of his time as a federal judge, a US Senator, and that he works for Disney, and that he is chancellor of Queens Unversity in belfast. . So what. the question is are the findings legitimate.

They appear to be though Mr. Clemens seems to disagree with me.

Baseball hasa steroid problem.they commissioned a study to find out how extensive it is. The study concluded that it si VERY extensive. It also made some specific recommendations about what to do next. If the commissioner (and in some cases the union) act I will say that some good came of this. But it was never Mitchell's mandate to catch every instance of cheating but coming up with 80 cases or so does seem to suggest that there is problem.

I just hope that this is not swept under the rug.

If they do they sure haven't been or don't enforce it....

There have been several people suspended for 50 games for violating the policy... now, that doesn't mean they test for everything they should or that there aren't people doing things (HGH) they can't test for... but the number of people suspended are roughly the same as those in the NFL...

Didn't Eric Gagne play for the Red Sox last year? Maybe, just maybe, they don't use steroids. A better scenario would be that the players were a bit sneakier.

The report seems to show that specific clubhouses created the problem and as the invidual abusers were traded or signed elsewhere, they spread this problem into other clubhouses. For example, you don't see a connection between the A's and the Red Sox. You do however see a connection with the A's and Bluejays(Canseco), Yankees (Giambi, Clemons from Bluejays), and Baltimore(Tejada). Just an opinion.
