Rice got the shaft dye to social pressure. The nfl saw the tape and punished him 2 games. The end!
Am sure the nflpa will appeal

Please don't misunderstand, I am in no way condoning his actions, he was wrong, very wrong, and deserved punishment. Having said that, if I'm Ray Rice I'm hiring the best lawyer money can buy tomorrow and by Wed I'm serving TMZ with a subpeona to force them to reveal how they acquired police evidence. Here's the problem, the police had ALL the evidence and after investigating and interviewing everyone involved they opted not to press criminal charges. Now TMZ gets their grubby little hands on one piece of that evidence, just one part of all the evidence, and recklessly releases it to the public. TMZ has now ruined this man's life and, oh by the way, also his wife's life, the very person everyone claims to be so concerned about. No matter how you feel about Ray Rice and what he did, this is flat out irresponsible and most probably actionable.

Tmz didn't ruin Ray Rice's life, Ray Rice did that all by himself.

Actually, Rice was doing fine, they appeared to have made up a LONG TIME AGO, she didn't even file charges AND they still got MARRIED.

Seeeing she didn't push for files to be charged, it should have been OVER.

that isnt how criminal law works a prosecutor can file charges even if the victim refuses too.

I guess you've never known a woman in an abusive relationship?

There is a very real condition know as battered women's syndrome.

There's something very wrong with a man who would coldcock a woman who he supposedly loved.

Ray Rice should be in jail, not only did the NFL drop the ball so did the Atlantic City prosecutors office.

I'll reference anyone who I feel makes some valid points. Do I think everything he says is right? Of course not. Mainly though, he was included to show that not all at ESPN are favoring the NFL with their commentary.

Yeap, especially in domestic violence cases like this. It's too easy/common for one party to, ummm, "convince" the other to not press charges or drop them after they've been filed.

Now its being reported that Goodell did know about the video.

Looks like Goodell will be forced to resign if this is true.
What did Roger know & when did he know it,AND did he cover it up? Maybe THIS will finally bring down THAT arrogant SOB. His(Goodell' s) hubris will be his downfall. Fox News just mentioned this very fact about the NFL potentially covering up the seriousness of Ray Rice's assault on his then fiance,& if true, executive heads SHOULD roll(including Roger's).

One of the points I continually try to make is that we have become a nation of people who are more concerned with "feelings" than actions. I am VERY doubtful that the NFL or the Raven's first time seeing that video was yesterday. Even if it was, they still saw him dragging her out of the elevator by her hair. I think it had been pretty much established and I think he admitted to them he had hit her. They had to know this video would surface at some point. So, again, we have an establishment and a team that waits until the outcry of the video to do the right thing. What they said was, two games is enough, well, unless the public see's the video because until that point, while emotions and feelings were high, not nearly as such until the video is observed by many. Think about that. Instead of doing the right thing and instead of most people condemning Rice at the first sign of him abusing his fiancé, they waited until they saw a video. It just makes no sense to me that people need to see a video before they do what is right.

If the NFL or anybody on the Raven's had seen this video before yesterday and they have lied, they need to be fired or resign. I personally think the way the Raven's and Harbaugh have handled this entire situation is embarrassing.

Ray Rice brought all of this upon himself, but I believe that the release of this video was done intentionally to embarrass the NFL & to probably force Goodell to resign. If the NFL had treated this right the first time & suspended Rice indefinitely, using the same criteria it used to reinstate Ben Rothlesberger(counselling among other things) after he was suspended for rape charges, this wouldn't have come back to bite them in the arse. Again,Fox News brought up the point of was the NFL trying to cover this up to get Rice back on the field as soon as possible. If the answer is yes, then Roger Goodell is damaged goods & will have to resign. What happened to Ray Rice is collateral damage(again, brought upon by himself),but like I said, this release was to both embarrass & damage the reputation of both the NFL & Roger Goodell. Ray Rice is Roger Goodell's "Willie Horton."

FOIA requests any citizen can request this stuff. Even in legal/judicial matters this kind of stuff can only be held until the case is closed then it will be released if requested.
