In the world of James Dolan, anything is possible. If (and this is a very big IF) Isiah will just be used for player recruitment, he can do both jobs, I suppose. If he is named GM again, he cannot, in which case he would probably leave the college post.

I have not been this excited for basketball season since the late 90's....As a Laker fan I am happy that there will be worthy competition for the next couple of seasons....Miami made big moves to make them a threat....so cant wait ( Shaq signing with Celtics cements the fact that the number 34 jearsey will not go up the Staples Center)
Certain NBA players should leave the front office and politics to others...Isiah being the leader in those NBA players. Jordan has improved, no Kwame Brown in the near future I hope

For those who don't live in Ohio, Akron and Cleveland are two completely different cities! Akron is 40 miles South of Cleveland. Most people in Akron are very removed from the general feelings of those in Cleveland.
Yep. They love their home town kid unconditionally. No questions asked. THAT is why he will ALWAYS go back there without issues and they will accept with open arms.
I think that is one record that will be very hard to break. EVERYTHING has to be prefect. No injuries, no bad calls that will kill a game, no big slumps. I don't think anyone will win 70 games again, much less breaking the record.
As far as those 72 win Bulls. Things sometimes seemed out of control. We used to have to stay in the same hotel...and the security was overwhelming. Being on the plane, it was like a casino....card games here, chess games there.
Just got through watching Shaq getting introduced to the Boston media and something occurred to me................
Most of the top iconic athletes on the current Boston sports team are on the Celtics. IMO, four of the top five Boston iconic athletes are Celtics (the other being Tom Brady).
David Ortiz is a Boston sports legend with all his late game heroics (especially in the 2004 postseason), but IMO he doesn't register that high nationally.
This is how I would rate the current Boston athletes on a national iconic level:
1. Shaquille O'Neal
2. Tom Brady
3. Kevin Garnett
4. Paul Pierce
5. Ray Allen
Obviously Brady has done more for Boston sports than Shaq (DUH!!), but IMO Shaq rates higher on an iconic level.

From a New York perspective I would disagree, Bill. Big Papi definitely registers very high here. At least number three based on your list, and an argument can even be made for number one.

I agree. Papi is at least bigger than Ray Allen (and possibly Pierce) on a national level. What's Ray Allen done to "iconi-size" his career beside hitting a consistent 3 and making a bad movie?

He did rat him out. It just looks like all those rumors that Lebron SUPPODELY talked to Bosh were just that...rumors. And suddenly, they have been squashed. It also points out that Lebron was never coming back to Cleveland and that is why alot of free agents were avoiding anything Cleveland like the plague.
