if the whole AMC networks are removed from this, this would mean all the Dolan owned networks (started with Voom in 2004, then Fuse in the summer of 2010, and then the MSG RSNs in October 2010) are gone for Dish and Dish customers will defect to DirecTV, cable, U-Verse or FIOS or worse, ditch the whole conventional pay TV outlet and just watch their shows via the internet with Hulu, Netflix, Google/Youtube, iTuens, Amazon or sites that has the shows up illegally. i guess Dish doesn't like dealing with Dolans or anyone at Disney right now. for Dish's sake, they need to drop said lawsuit, take a huge money hit from losing the suits instead of taking a hit from the people saying "F*** you Dish, i switching to another source for pay TV"

i wonder how Dish's stocks in the stock market are handling the news. as AMC is one of the most watched networks due to Mad Men, Walking Dead and Breaking Bad.

Is Voom still available internationally?
Some of them have made it over to Canada. I get Treasure HD(Now called HIFI HD) and Equator HD, Rush HD(Now called Rad X HD) as well as Oasis HD(which is an all nature HD channel) via Bell TV

The possibility that they are removed won't occur until the end of June, Mad men will be over by then.

Unless AMC has some original programming during the summer, this will not be a big loss until their original programming returns in the fall.

Thank you. I didn't realize the Mad Men season is so short. :)

Dish probably figures dropping the AMC channels would cost the Dolans enough that they would want to settle the VOOM lawsuit.

Dish Network to drop 'Mad Men' network, citing poor viewership | The Detroit News | detroitnews.comSorry if this has been covered, I dont know if this an update or old news, article is making it sound like a done deal??
Sundance was dropped by Wide Open West last year because of low viewership (they did keep WE though). So I can see Sundance, IFC and WE having that problem. But I can't imagine AMC having low viewership. Like I said earlier, AMC is in most cabelco's low - mid tiers. Low viewer channels rarely get placed in those spots.

I would guess that Dish may try something like Flix for Sundance Channel. I think I noticed some IFC films a while back on Flix and the Showtime Networks like The Safety Of Objects for example. XX/XY (which IFC has a site for) and Igby Goes Down (which also has a video site on IFC's site) will be on Flix. To me, Sundance is more like the old IFC.

I would also guess Starz Cinema for IFC.

Other contenders would probably be Epix Drive-In, RetroPlex, and IndiePlex. Otherwise, if Dish is not concerned about a "similar" channel, then they'll probably place any channel.

Again, only speculation, nothing official...Didn't Suddenlink have issues with AMC Networks recently?

I was thinking of Indieplex myself, but didn't think of Flix. Flix would appease the missing AMC.

Well, I'm a big Walking Dead fan and this would be a bad move from my perspective. Yes, that show is on Netflix, but a season behind...current seasons don't go to Netflix until they're over. As of right now Season 1 is all that is on Netflix (just checked) and Season 2 has been over for a while now.

Guess my 2 year contract expiring this month gives me options...gotta find the silver lining.

Breaking Bad comes back in the summer. A great show that i will miss if they get dropped, guess i'll get them on iTunes if they are dropped.

Im sorry if this rubs my fellow dish subs the wrong way.
Dish is dead wrong here binding the two issues together.
To pull Rainbow channels is being spiteful. Once again they
are hurting us loyal subs.

They pulled the same crap when they pulled Voom off the air.
Yes, people will argue they had every right to. Im sorry
It seems dish jumped the gun and decieded to break a contract.
Once again not wanting to pay.

This Voom issue still rubs me the wrong way. I feel
dish robbed us of outstanding programming.
So while I still have dish and pay them a nice
chunk of money, I hope they get their butts kicked
by Rainbow when all is said and done.

Mad Men ends June 10th. Rumors are that Breaking Bad will return in late July. Walking Dead and Hell on Wheels won't be back until October/November. AMC only has a couple of shows that draw viewers for 1hr or 2 hrs a week.

I know some people like AMC, as I used to, but there are a lot of channels that need to go away. I think AMC has some value, but IFC, Sundance and We need to be dropped and consolidated into 1 channel or that programming mixed into the AMC lineup. I personally get tired of going thru the guide and seeing 4hr blocks or more of the same show on channels.

It was nice programming, but how many times can you watch the same thing over and over every day. It seemed like some of the voom channels were showing the same 4hr block a week at a time.
