I read somewhere on this forum awhile back that some had test recorded a 4:2:2 feed on a STB, which was not viewable on screen and then play it back on a computer and were able to see the feed clearly. Was this the Manhattan DJ 1997? I can't remember, now that I've got one on the way to me, just wondering if this was the box that was mentioned.
Anyone remember which STB this was?
thanks

I know with my Openbox S9 and my Amiko HDSE that is possible. Just record the TS stream, and playback with VLC.

Pretty much all receivers will record a 4:2:2 channel as a .ts format DVR file to playback at a later time as Fat Air and Satphreak suggested. Some receivers will "live stream" over LAN to a connected media player or PC for viewing.
