And what are we to make of Q’s “Oh, Snap!” moment? He may be in as much peril as everyone else.

The director for Picard this season is Leah Thompson from Back to the Future movies. She played Marty's mom. So maybe they are using some of the time travel rules from the those movies.
Just episodes three and four.

Did anyone try calling the phone number on the 3D-printed Q-Card?

Been watching the YouTubers that review in the Star Trek space (and there are a bunch of them, which just shows how wasteful of built up and built in fandom STD is) and pretty much all of them, and, for what its worth, me,have the same opinion. Just get on with it already.

They are now four hours into this and still really nothing has happened. We finally find out that the goal, apparently, is (lifted from "Tomorow is Yesterday" and reused in "First Contact" ) to make sure some astronaut does something. This time because she might be too depressed to do it and this will apparently be accomplished by sneaking into a fancy dress ball.

This is a movie length idea, stretched into eight hours with endless references to past series and easter egg phone numbers and what not.

Just get on with it.

Did any of the YouTubers say how asinine it is to expose a critical mission specialist to an incredible number of infectous disease sources before putting them into a 48-hour quarantine protocol?

Pacific Northwest, where it rains a lot...
I agree, it's moving rather slowly, but at least they are playing out new (and admittedly interesting) plot points and angles with this episode. The "Gary Seven" reference was kinda cool, and that she's a "watcher" too is interesting. Seeing Spiner again as an early version of Soong was fun, and Q is a real PITA/SOB. What's his "thing" besides making Picard miserable and screwing up stuff?

And Foxbat is right, If they're gonna expose the astronauts to countless chances at catching something just before a 48-hour quarantine, they must have really great vaccines 2 years from now! :D

The angles that you really wouldn’t have a fancy dress party for astronauts just before launch, you really would not make it to astronaut status with the types of disabling mental problems Picard’s ancestor has, and the odd relationship between NASA and the ESA. As well as the fact that all of Soong’s ancestors look alike.

We can clearly see where this is going. They are running out of TOS and TNG episodes to do tributes to.

I'm enjoying Picard much more this season, even though I wasn't excited about a ST IV reminiscent return to the 20th/21st century. But at least there are no Whales to save this time.

I think there is some good science fiction in this, and the story is proceeding well.

But has Jurati been assimilated? That is intriging

AND then yesterday's bomb dropped about the third season cast.. WOW. The entire TNG crew minus Wesley is back for the conclusion of Jean-Luc Picard's story. How awesome.

- This week’s episode moved the story forward at a glacial pace. The idea that a person with deep and long lasting mental problems can be made all better with a grandfatherly pep talk from some guy she never met is weak. I don’t particularly care for this series’ version of the Borg idea.

- The “we are getting the gang back together” theme of season 3 will be interesting as to how they work things out. A cameo here and there is one thing, but a remake of the story arc of ST 2-4 is quite another.

Yeah, this episode was my least favorite of the season. Glacial pace captures it. And it just left me wanting. It was a meh... episode.

And Soong created androids that appear human in the early 21st century. Meh...

If it wasn't for Orla Brady (Larris/Tallinn) it wouldn't be worth it.

I thought Agnes sang pretty nice, but I doubt she would know all the lyrics and words to Shadow of the Night from the 80s in the 24th century.. Loved the Borg Queen interacting with her while she was with that Capt Rico. She Forced Agnes to kiss him on the lips instantly. Although I don't remember the Borg Queen that interested in Romance in the past either. Still funny . I loved the interaction with Capt Janeway with the Borg Queen in the finale of Voyager - Endgame too. She got the better of the queen in such a good way. It took two Janeways to accomplish that though.
