Actually I got the Best deal, At least for 3 months with ST and all premiums negative (56 dollars).
Unfortunately my 3 month ends soon.

Normally you get that for 4-5 months with the ST package deal.
Can anyone confirm you can get the $35 Choice Xtra price along with the sunday ticket promo? Ideally I am looking to sign up for the ST promo w/ AAA and a referral code then after the 5 months downgrading to Choice Xtra and hoping the promo price of $35 kicks in at that point for the remainder of the first year in the contract.
I'm out of contact right now and something like that would get me back into one. Maybe even the premier deal. Not sure if I'll wait a but or call now before they have given away the farm.

I think he means they offered him the first four weeks of ST for $50, which isnt that great since you can otherwise get 17 weeks for $300.
Not sure what they'd do with the remainder of the season if you decided to keep it. I've never seen the 'one month' deal offered before. I've seen them offer "rest of the season" deals after the midway point, and once I saw a "buy nfl sunday ticket next year and we'll give you the rest of this season for free" when there were 4-5 weeks left in the season.

Ok, yeah that would make more sense $50 for the first month kinda like a trial of the service.
I'll likely call next week to set up service, but so far from what I can tell is it seems to be about the same price (over 2 years) to get the Sunday Ticket promo or the Choice xtra promo w/ Sunday Ticket added on. The choice xtra discount for the first year is over $300 which is basically what ST costs. (ST still gets an edge since its the premier package for 5 months though, so that is a good perk)
However, if the Sunday Ticket promo can somehow get the discounted rate after the first 5 months, then that would be a much better deal. I'll see what I can find out next week.

You misunderstood me. You can get the NFL / Premier promo, OR the Choice Xtra for $35 promo. You can't get both, and you can drop to Choice Xtra after the 5 months but it would be at the $66/mo price everyone else pays.
Hey guys, I just called directv today and told the rep I was considering to cancel sunday ticket unless they were willing to give me discounted price.
Now I only have to pay 245$ ST for this season which is cheaper than last year!

My understanding is too add it via website. When you call, they will make the offer to keep it

I signed up last year as a new subscriber in late August for the great Premier package intro & NFL ticket deal they had going on. I think it was $59 or $79 a month for 5 months.
This would have been my first NFL season at full price. I called and explained I'm not working fulltime right now (which is true, no fibbing there) and I no longer needed the NFL to go, which is what used to be Superfan. I also said due to my loss in timebase (I work about 4/5 right now) I would have to also cancel the NFL ticket. The guy said he would check his computer and after a while came back and offered me $20 off each month for 6 months. So it's $120 off. I'll end up paying $29.99 a month for 6 months. Just under $180. :up

I've been waiting to sign up this year because I need a whole house hardware upgrade to HD receivers and HD DVR, but I don't want to shell out all the $$ for leased hardware. I figured I would be able to get most of the hardware for free for signing up for ST, and I see on the flier that they are giving away a free HD dvr and HD receiver with the deal.
You think I could take the ST Fathersday discount deal, get the free hardware, and then call up to try to cancel the ST to see if they would discount it? Could they deny me the ability to cancel ST because I took the bundle? Or could they try to charge me for the hardware because I canceled ST?

Your waiting for the ST promos and want FREE recvrs and want to cancel the ST unless they give you a discount ?
The ST Promo deal is the BEST promo of the year and NORMALLY only for new subs, it's already discounted considerably.
It would not surprise me that you would loose other discounts when asking for ST discounts.
