DISH Drops AMC Networks (AMC Back on DISH channel 131)

Logged in later and it was working, all ya have to do is rewind ie start from the beginning, even got to skip the ads lol.

That was definitely a huge gaffe by AMC tonight!Don't see how anyone could blame Dish for AMC's ineptitude.

I ended up watching the whole thing starting around 10:20 pm eastern time and skipped the commercials too! A great episode tonight. My son went to a friends house to watch, and will probably do that the rest of the season. I think I'll be doing something similar and visit someone who has AMC on their service.

You're right that it isn't Dish's fault that the AMC stream was wonky. But Dish is partially responsible that it has to come to this to watch TWD.

Watched it this morning on Amazon season pass on my free roku player from DISH. It only costed me $2.24 in hd . Good episode and it is going to be action ,gore packed season.

AMC was advertising that you can't watch AMC on Dish last night during the walking dead. I watched it on cable. When I miss it I buy the episode from apple. I wonder how many people dropped dish because they dropped AMC?

It could be a high number that dropped Dish, hard to say. They were able to retain quite a few with incentives though.

I started watching ~9:50pm last night. iPad airplay to my Apple TV. Quality wasn't too bad.

That's one thing I have noticed about TWD from the very first episode. It's as if they have the resolution turned down,it has never looked that sharp.Guess they want to go for the B movie look or something.

I have a feeling that a lot of people who weren't aware of the Dish/AMC kerfuffle suddenly woke up last night, and Dish has been barraged with phone calls since then. THIS will be the quarter where their subscriber numbers will be affected, not when AMC was originally dropped.

By default in only shows Dish's posts you have to click all or "by others." Something if that nature.

I understand AMC isn't coming back anytime soon even if you use Dish's "soon". I will use my Apple TV or Roku to buy the season. I think Dish is doing more harm than good with their facebook though. They should either stop allowing people to post on their wall or at the very least stop responding to all the AMC comments. It actually sounds insulting to respond to someone asking for AMC by saying that AMC doesn't have high quality programming. Gee, thanks Dish! I thought I liked Walking Dead but I must have been wrong because it turns out it's not high quality programming. Thanks for saving me from this season of Walking Dead that I would have only thought I was enjoying. Dish chat tried the same line on me.

They are also contradicting themselves as some people have pointed out on their facebook page. Half of Dish's responses say Dish has permanently removed AMC because it's not high value programing. The other half say they are still negotiating and hope to get it back. These responses aren't going to do anything to calm down an angry customer who wants to watch The Walking Dead. If anything they are just making them angrier. They would be better off staying off facebook.

Called dish. Took less then 10 minutes to get through the first level customer support to Account Specialist Adriana. Note, the cost of the season pass of The Walking Dead is 45.44 if you do HD. They offered 35.00, but also added $10 off per month for 1 year. Sounded like they would have thrown in some free movie channels as well, but I already have HBO and Showtime.

I agree. As much as Dish may not want to accept it, customers make the determination of what is high quality programming.

Dish is on a slippery slope where they are pushing some customers to other providers, while pushing some others to drop pay TV altogether.

Almost proves the point of how few people actually watch AMC if they just found out now.
