DISH Drops AMC Networks (AMC Back on DISH channel 131)

Strange call about my Roku

Thought about creating a new thread but I'll just post it here.

Just got a strange call from Dish (the guy sounded like an unprofessional fly-by-night operator, stumbling over his script a couple times)...but anyway, he asked me how I was enjoying my Roku, did I have any problems setting it up (no), what kind of programming I've been watching on it (I just threw out a couple of show names - Breaking Bad, Hell on Wheels), and then he just thanked me for being a Dish customer and that was it. It was almost surreal. Anyone else get this call yet?

very strange. no call here like that as of yet.

Well, would not be surprising for some random checks to see if the Roku is being used for the reasons they gave them out.

So...... if the response is generally like what dare2be gave, does that tell Dish they better get AMC back - or they don't need to?

I received the call as well, I recognized the dish number on my caller ID. I received the call a few weeks after I got the roku, asked me how I thought things were handled regarding roku/amc. Was also asked general questions about service as well.

Good question, Tampa. I'm not one of those that cared much about the AMC shows, but I did toe the line with my answers for the sake of the presumable greater good. ;)

According to Dare2be's response, I (if I were Dish) would read it as a no...they don't need to.

I recall them asking me if I would mind to do a survey when I called loyalty.I politely declined.I would think its Dish just basically doing a courtesy check.

and if I had said that I use the Roku for other things and don't want to pay extra for the AMC shows, I would also read that as a no, they don't need to. I should have said, yes, watching all these shows on the Roku is getting expensive, can I get more credits off my bill? ;)

Well...If they haven't resolved it by the Walking Dead premiere I intend to call them again.Pretty well ate up the $30 credit with breaking bad and hell on wheels, and I would really prefer to watch the walking dead in hd.

Did you not also get $10.00 off for 12 months?

Sorry to hear that...no premium discounts either?. How long a sub? Under contract or no?

Sorry to hear that.

Thanks,

I'm still holding out just a little bit of hope that they could get AMC back by Oct 7th but I seriously doubt it.I kind of figure Dish will send out some more postcards or emails if they haven't got AMC back for the premiere.
