But look at a bright side it's dry heat with hardly any humidity only 5 % now that's low humidity!!

Be thankful that you are not in Texas or Florida or I used to live in Panama Canal Zone where it's 90 % year round.

I may try out that new firmware... dumb question: If I upgrade the firmware, can I then re-upload my user database so I don't have to set up all the channels again?

Also, my V9 (or something?) has been acting up with my C band, when I first tune to 101W C band, it won't show signal, then I tune to 105W C band and back to 101W and the muxes come in fine. Any ideas? Diseqc switch?
I use a 4 port Diseqc 1.0 switch and then use a 22k switch on the output of one port to split between C band and a Standard Ku band FYI.
WPR has generally behaved for me with the Maverick PLL LNB, I honestly haven't been on Ku too much since I got C band
My family kinda (more than kinda) thinks I'm nuts for having a C band dish, or as many TV antennas and the couple of Ku dishes I have, and many hams out there are surprised that C band (or FTA) is still a thing haha.

No Ku motor, and the C band actuator is controlled separately from the recvr

The fact that the problem is solved when you go to 105 then back to 101 sounded like a potential motor issue, but I don't know anything about C-band actuators.

Correct, it's still hot like a blast furnace, but you don't get drenched with sweat after being outside for 10 minutes. Since I moved here I learned that it's important to stay hydrated and make sure you always take a cold water bottle with you when you get in the car.
