AL CENTRAL

On Carl Pavano's first outing with the Tribe...

“Carl Pavano looked good today — as good as you can look the first time out. He threw two perfect innings, getting five groundball outs. When asked the last time he felt this good, he replied, “I don’t know if I can think back that far.”

This may work out very good for the Tribe, Pavano gets out of the bright lights and can go back to pitching without a ton of pressure.

Jimbo

It's not the pressure, it's the fast life, fast cars and dames. Can he curtail that side of his persona for 6-7 months this year? THAT will tell the story.

It's too bad Carl Pavano broke up with Alyssa Milano- I can't even imagine how HD would have felt about possibly seeing a game with her.

Tigers are being extra cautionary with Bonderman. They sent up to Detroit to see some specialist, but they haven't found anything wrong with him. It doesn't look like he will be ready for the regular season. Porticello to get a few looks in the starting rotation for now.

I'm still alive boys.

The old maid gives me permission to go out with Alyssa Milano. I have a feeling she's doing this to teach me a lesson. She's probably going to laugh in my face once Alyssa rejects me.

I don't think the Indians play the Dodgers in Interleague Play this year, so you'll have to try something ingenious.

What did the wife say? You must be doing well that you can afford at least 2 maids. What do you call the other(s) one(s)?

Is it still OK to talk about baseball here?

The Tiger's are in the unique position of having more talent this spring than spots available on the roster, especially in the OF. Thames, Rayburn, Thomas,Clevlen, and Larish are making great cases for their inclusion. On the pitching side,Ryan Porcello and Ryan Perry are looking like Verlander and Zumaya in 2006 .Just the kind of problems you just love to have in spring! Sure beats counting the injuries. Bonderman threw yesterday without pain. That's encouraging.

Woody Update

Kerry Wood returned to the mound Wednesday, throwing live batting practice on a minor league field at Goodyear Ballpark.

It was Wood’s first action since he was scratched from a bullpen session last Wednesday with a sore back and the first time that the Indians’ new closer faced live hitters this spring.

“He looked good today. He felt good today,” said Indians manager Eric Wedge. “It was good for him to see some hitters. We’re on the right track with that.”
